Cake and Pie Baker/Cashier (full-time, starting immediately)
This position is an opportunity to join a cake family in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful, fun baking environment. Wage varies with experience – but we’ll train you! Must be available to work early hours and weekends.
Job Duties:
-baking and icing shifts starting as early as 5am
-basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
-must be able to stand for extended periods of time
-must be able to reliably lift 50 lbs
-dish washing
-willingness to write on cakes
-willingness to put designs/drawings on cakes
-make deliveries
Required:
2+ years customer service
Working car with AC
Sense of humor
Preferred experience:
1+ years baking (home or work)
Amateur graphic design experience (drawing/painting/sculpting)
Compensation: $10-$12 per hour (commensurate with experience and good references) plus tips
Weddings Coordinator at Short Street Cakes (full-time, starting August 1st)
Responsibilities include:
-Managing Customer service at the Cake Shop, including all wedding cake coordination and client interface
-Engage with wedding cake customers in all aspects of wedding cake services, including: responding to inquiries, drafting contracts, ongoing communication with wedding clients, production, day-of coordination, delivery, set-up, payment, and follow-up.
-Working with staff to ensure product quality and consistency, while working to improve cost and production efficiency, including ingredients inventory and ordering
-Supervising and assisting inventory and wholesale and retail coordination
-Ensuring that the physical plant of the Cake Shop is in clean and working order
-Participate in production shifts and front end (customer service) shifts
-Assisting the Shop Owner as needed with tasks relating to marketing, event coordination, advertising, promotion, and media
Required:
-2+ years customer service
-Working car with AC
-Sense of humor
-Friendly, intelligent, and professional comport
-flexibility, adaptability, honesty, and integrity
-knowledge and competence in computer skills including many platforms of social media, as well as google docs, microsoft word and excel
Compensation:
$13 – $15 per hour (commensurate with experience and good references) plus tips.
